Level Up Your PAX Presence: Crowd Culture Gears Up for October!
Posted on June 18, 2024
While we are right in the midst of Winter, the buzz for PAX AUS in October is already electric here at Crowd Culture. This three-day video game extravaganza, attracting over 80,000 attendees according to Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, is a must-attend event for gamers and brands alike. As a leading experiential marketing agency, we’re diving headfirst into crafting unforgettable experiences for our clients that leave a lasting impact on the enthusiastic PAX crowd.
Deep Dives into Client Goals:
Every brand has unique objectives for PAX. Some may be focused on generating hype for a new release, while others aim to connect with dedicated fanbases. We’re in the thick of brainstorming sessions, collaborating with our clients to understand their specific needs and translate them into show-stopping stand designs and interactive experiences. As this article points out, “getting confident and natural at pitching your game to consumers, media and colleagues” is a key benefit of attending PAX. By understanding our clients’ goals, we can tailor their stand experience to facilitate these crucial interactions.
Planning Like Clockwork:
PAX may seem like a distant date, but production lead times can catch you off guard. We’re working closely with our clients to ensure their custom stand designs, encompassing everything from lighting and furniture to interactive elements, go from concept to reality seamlessly. This meticulous planning ensures a smooth and stress-free experience for our clients, allowing them to focus on engaging the PAX audience.
The Digital Dominion:
PAX screams cutting-edge tech, and Crowd Culture is here to deliver! We’re pushing the boundaries of digital engagement, exploring the use of captivating LED displays with in-game elements and mind-blowing gameplay experiences. These immersive experiences will not only grab the attention of attendees, but also create a unique platform for brands to showcase their innovative spirit, aligning perfectly with PAX’s focus on the future of gaming.
Standing Out in the Crowd:
With hundreds of booths vying for attention, getting noticed at PAX can be a challenge. Crowd Culture is exploring impactful strategies to ensure your brand cuts through the noise. One technique is utilising “halos” – those eye-catching overhead structures illuminated with lighting effects. As highlighted in our recent social post, these halos can significantly increase stand visibility, drawing attendees in from afar.
Memories that Last:
We believe in creating experiences, not just stands. We’re strategising unique and interactive experiences that leave a lasting impression on attendees. This could involve anything from engaging tournaments with exciting prizes to interactive product demonstrations that allow attendees to get hands-on with the latest gaming tech. By focusing on creating memories, we’re fostering positive brand associations that will resonate long after the event ends.
Crowd Culture has been supporting clients to exhbit at PAX for the past 10 years, so we know all of the ins-and-outs of the event! If you will be heading to PAX this year, either as an exhibitor, or attendee, some of our team have put together their top tips for surviving PAX weekend (does anyone else notice a common theme…?):
Blake:
Have a plan – and comfy shoes of course.
Josh:
Expos are long days, and that can mean you are standing on your feet for long periods of time. Make sure to to wear comfortable shoes everyday so that you can feel fresh and ready to go all weekend!
Lisa:
1. Comfy shoes! 2. Two-way radios to communicate with the team. Ringing phones are not always heard. 3. Get a good vantage point to see the influx of people when the doors finally open. It’s an incredible sight!
Glenn:
Lip Balm. I know that sounds weird, but for some reason inside that convention center for that many hours completely dries you out. Hydrolites are also important, there are a lot of late night party’s and early starts over the weekend as both an exhibitor and as a fan, along with the previously mentioned dehydration.
The PAX AUS countdown is officially on! We’re excited to be a part of the action and can’t wait to see you there. In the meantime, follow Crowd Culture on social media! We’ll be dropping hints, sharing industry insights, and keeping you in the loop on all things PAX AUS.
